IMHO your best analysis, summation, and update Arjun. And to put an exclamation point on affirming your "Super Vol" narrative the global landscape has changed yet again, with Iran belligerently announcing "SoH is closed again" drawing their terrorist sponsored group Hezbollah in Lebanon to the forefront of demands. Appreciate your coverage and would like to hear from over at X on what you think may emerge today, Sunday, in Switzerland and any insight on SoH announcements today, tomorrow, or this week. Keep em coming Arjun. And congratulations to you and your Knicks. Humor here. Shame on you for not mentioning the recent Nuggest and now more than ever quite possible the greatest player in NBA history, super super star Mr Yokic, of the team where you went to college. This year Mr Yokic set records leading the league in, what, ASSISTS, for a 7 ft 280 center, and rebounds, and was nearly there in PPG at nearly 28 PG. Those numbers put The Joker at the top of the NBA.... for all of NBA history. this has literally never been done before by anyone, no player, in NBA history, let alone a center. Nikola Jokić making history by leading the NBA in both rebounds per game (12.9) and assists per game (10.7) during the 2025–26 regular season is unprecedented.
The Historical Context: Even Wilt Didn't Do It
Whenever a center puts up video-game numbers, the immediate comparison is Wilt Chamberlain. But even Wilt never swept the per-game titles for both stats in the same year:
• In the 1967–68 season, Wilt famously decided to prove he could pass and led the NBA in total assists, but Oscar Robertson actually averaged more assists per game.
• Jokić leading the league in both per-game metrics simultaneously is a feat that eluded Wilt, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, and Russell Westbrook. It is arguably one of the most absurd statistical milestones in basketball history.
The Heartbreak of the MVP Race
It is completely understandable to feel like he was shortchanged on the MVP honor this year. Averaging a 27.7-point TRIPPLE-DOUBLE while setting an ALL-TIME historical precedent usually punches a ticket straight to the trophy presentation !
Your point about the Denver Nuggets' injuries is the exact context that raw voter numbers often ignore. Losing their third-best player (Aaron Gordon) for significant stretches, alongside a rotating door of loss of key major depth pieces out of the lineup, forced Jokić to carry an astronomical workload just to keep Denver locked into the West's 3-seed.
While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a spectacular year leading OKC to the top of the standings, Jokić quite literally did everything for Denver. He didn't just play center; he played point guard, anchor, and primary scorer for a depleted roster. It’s a shame the narrative shifted away from him, because what he accomplished this season was historically singular in all of NBA history. I can't come close to teaching you a thing about oil and gas Arjun. But thought I'd offer a little insight on NBA "greatest of all time" player being omitted from your quick summary. Cheers Barry
Spot on about Lee. He didn't suffer fools gladly which is why he was vilified by journalists and the climate lobby. Most telling is what Jamie Dimon said about his influence as lead director for JP Morgan during the GFC.
Yes, the Rockets stole your dream in 1994 because we had Hakeem the Dream!
Thanks for another intresting podcast. If we assume that demand is going to grow (if it’s from bigger reserves or necessity of national security) aren’t oil services the best leverage to follow the trend? Such as offshore both deepwater and shallow water? Ever considered discussing that topic - would be really interesting.
no doubt there is ongoing CAPEX needs that benefit oil services. I have compared/contrasted the different sectors before but agree would be good to come back to it.
I listen to most of them since a few months - must have missed it or it was earlier. Nonetheless would be great to listen to your view on the topic :) thanks and greetings all the way from Poland!

On the post, thank you!
On Jokic, OMG, I can't believe he didn't instinctively come to mind. My favorite non-Knick. I really don't like Wemby or the flopper SGA.
One of your best posts ever. Over time and changing circumstances I appreciate how much more conviction you have. Just my take.
I really appreciate that MP! Thank you so much. It has been a journey trying to get back to where I was in the 2004-10 time frame. ;)

Poland, wow! A country on the rise from what I understand. Need to dig into Poland's economic and energy stats!!!
Thanks, Arjun.
You are certainly singing my song about how to think about oil pricing. The amount of energy wasted on predictions about this just boggles the mind.
LOL, thank you Paul. This obsession with "where do things settles out" I think has led many people astray...bullish and bearish.
