I always come away with some valuable vittles,Arjun, and the recurring confirmation that you're a champ-incisive,clear and in depth coverage of the subject, and an overall great guy.As a Crude Oil futures trader,my discipline dictates that I should ignore the fundamentals, but you unfailingly locate the state of the market right in the middle of the fairway, where it belongs. Many Thanks,as usual.
Regarding Tim Hodgson: this election I was campaigning near where he was (is) the rival candidate. If anyone has ever worked on a political campaign it's an-all out effort to get out the vote, talk to voters, get organized for events, prep your candidate, and free him/her up to deal with various associations etc. who want appearances. In a day you'll walk around and talk to so many people that you're asleep the minute you get back home. Inevitably you'll meet people who support the rival candidate/party and who want to debate you, and in my case from what I knew about both Tim Hodgson and Mark Carney I liked them both as candidates even though I'm campaigning against them, so I several times I was in the awkward position of people expecting me to critique them even though I privately thought they are both great choices. Anyway, I'm quite happy to see how the election turned out.
BTW: number one issue for virtually every voter I spoke with was the Trump tariffs. Partly it was the timing because the tariffs were announced right as the election campaigns were gearing up so they instantly became topic #1. No matter where they were on the left-right spectrum every voter I spoke to always thought the other party's candidates weren't being tough enough and demanded ever-increasing retaliation LOL, it was like a competition to see who could come up with the toughest rhetoric. Anyway, good pick with Hodgson.
