Thanks you organecannonim! Was kind of feeling bad that I always write negatively about Europe/UK. It is really the energy & climate policy I am not a fan of.
Yes, I am a big proponent of nuclear. But I wouldn't put at the top of list that traditional energy companies or investors need to get right over the next decade. It is for sure something policy makers and politicians should push for over the coming decade.
The Hongcen Wei coal episode was very interesting. +1 vote for keeping coal in mind because it is so important for the global energy transition yet gets so little investor attention and so little intelligent discussion in the broader media, it's good that Goldman is restarting macro coverage. If there is anyone else covering coal I know several readers who would like to hear about it.
I remember talking to someone at an E&P and he said it memorably: "80% of new global oil supply is being driven by a few zip codes in Texas, New Mexico and North Dakota." So Tier 1 acreage is/soon will be entering the mature phase, definitely be interested to see some posts on what the mature phase and production from Tier 2 and 3 acreage looks like.
100% Investor. I do think though that the bulk of coal growth will come from state Coal companies in China, India, etc. A trickier area for publicly traded companies and investors.
Thanks again Arjun. I value everything that you write. “On A Personal Note” is spot on 1 thru 9. Sadly and regrettably, I have no knowledge of #10. A sign of my age.
Very informative writings. Checkout the golf in the Liverpool area. 3 courses on the Open Rota plus a bunch of other great courses.
appreciate the course suggestions!
Why no maximum age indeed. It is sorely needed.
Add no bisphenols in thermal paper that prints in those cc machines, and plastic bottle caps that stay attached.
Let’s not forget about the plastic bottle caps that stay attached, and no bisphenols in that thermal paper WTF.
Thanks Arjun
You give out an awful lot of info and analysis. Thanks so much.
As a uk /European citizen, I'm glad you enjoyed your visits....

At the top of your list should be nuclear energy which would make all the other 5 topics go away.
Unfortunately it requires politicians to come to their senses and abandon their special interest benefactors... so unlikely to happen any time soon.
